چکیده
Irrigation reservoir design associated with ungauged watersheds requires reliable watershed streamflow estimations. In practice, designs are either based on the empirical model of Department guideline or recent conceptual mathematical models. Use models require appropriate levels for calculation streamflow. Popular adequate guidance application safety factors to outputs. The two aspects that need attention are, reliability estimations by and incorporation when converting outputs as main gap in literature is a critical evaluation importance these real-life applications. authors, review paper, identified best available method yield estimation Guideline Method (IGM) but pointed necessity verification field observations. Accordingly, present study compared most commonly used IGM, HEC HMS Unit Hydrograph (UH) carrying out an Kalu Ganga at Ellagawa. This study, while focusing availability parameters assessments watersheds, aimed demonstration comparison which has data established parameters. It expected this would facilitate selection not only wet zone also dry Sri Lanka. Spreadsheet were developed each using reported incorporating engineering judgment. Comparison observed was done annual seasonal water balance, flow duration curves, Mean Ratio Absolute Error (MRAE) numerical indicator. Evaluation from three methods showed IGM estimates monthly closely matched data. MRAE Overall Hydrograph, in-case HMS, UH 0.35, 0.58 0.4, respectively. thresholds modern hydrological updating guidelines highlighted. revealed establishing guides computing watersheds. recognized amongst selected estimation. results create significant ambiguities because unreliability processes considering factors, clearly guidelines. vital

water resources management and food security in zayandeh rud basin: an integrated river basin analysis
irrigated agriculture is an important contributor to the expansion of national food supplies and is expected to play a major role in food security of developing countries. such countries face water crisis for securing the food staples. well designed water resource policies potentially can improve the water allocation and use efficiency as well as the food security objectives. this paper present...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Optimum Sustainable Water Management in an Urbanizing River Basin in Japan, Based on Integrated Modelling Techniques
In this research, a Decision Support System (“DSS”) was developed, using a combination of various existing models for Integrated Water Management (“IWM”). This DSS is then applied to a small urbanized basin, the Taguri-River basin in Japan. In developing the DSS, different existing dynamic and steady state models were combined. These models include a rainfall-runoff analysis model, two river an...
متن کاملAssessment of water quality in Blinaja River Basin (Kosovo) using the Canadian Water Quality Index (WQI)
Kosovo has limited natural water resources which should be well managed. This is recently realised through quantitative and qualitative monitoring of both surface and groundwater and by characterizing their quality according to their destination. In this paper, the Water Quality Index (WQI) developed by the Canadian Council of Environment Ministers (CCME WQI) was applied to evaluate the groundw...
متن کاملRiver water quality modelling for river basin and water resources management with a focus on the Saale River, Germany
This thesis focuses on computer modelling issues such as i) uncertainty, including uncertainty in parameters, data input and model structure, ii) model complexity and how it affects uncertainty, iii) scale, as it pertains to scaling calibrated and validated models up or down to different spatial and temporal resolutions, and iv) transferability of a model to a site of the same scale. The discus...
